What do you like best about the Willow Project? I just got recruited, so it hasn’t been that long for me to say exactly what I like best. But so far, I’m really enjoying the people I work with. People are so nice and warm here, and it feels like such an awesome environment to be serving the patients in. Also, I really like the fact that we’re focused on serving the homeless; I agree with WP that there aren’t enough help available for the homeless, and I know there is so much potential for WP to do even more. What is your most memorable Willow Project experience? My first day of clinic; I can’t forget the excitement I felt when I did my first intake. I started out feeling somewhat lost, but was able to handle it after the first two patients (with the help of Jarae and Wency- thanks girls). That was fun. It was also a lot of fun interacting with the patients. What does being a part of the Willow Project mean to you? A lot. It’s so great knowing that what I do directly helps the group of people who, in my opinion, needs the most attention in our society. It means a lot to me to be able to share even just a simple smile with them. I also get to do things that I really enjoy, with such awesome people. I feel very blessed to be part of the WP. Give an interesting story or fact about yourself? I practiced writing with my left hand for a while, because I really wanted to be a leftie. Also, people tend to assume that I can surf since I’m from Hawaii. Actually, I still haven’t gotten around learning how to swim. What fruit are you and why? I’d be kiwi. They’re rough on the outside but really yummy and fun to eat. I may seem really serious on the outside but I’m also fun, easygoing, and warm if you get know me more. What do you really think about Ryan & Jarae? They’re fun. I think it’s really cute how they complement each other. I also appreciated how they were so welcoming when us newcomers first joined. Thanks guys! |
